2009 Kell Metro Softball Tryouts
Tryouts for 2009 Kell Metro Softball at Kell High School will be held Wednesday June 24th from 6:00-8:00.

Lassiter Middle School Fastpitch Tryouts
The Lassiter Middle School Fastpitch program is holding tryouts for the Fall 2009 season on Wednesday, July 8 at 4:00pm,
Sunday, July 12 at 7:00pm, Wednesday, July 15 at 4:00pm, and Sunday, July 19 at 7:00pm at Lassiter High School Softball Field.
All rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders are invited to try out. For information, please contact

Sprayberry Jr Jackets Tryouts
Sprayberry Junior Jackets will hold tryouts for the Metro League middle school teams. Rising 6th-7th-8th graders primarily.
Rising 5th graders are welcome to try out.
There will be at least 1 Gold Team and 1 Silver team.

- Thu Jul 16 7:00pm-9:00pm
- Sat Jul 18 11:00am-1:00pm

SPSA Turns 20!!!
We've hit a big milestone... it was the Spring '89 season of Girl's Softball under the
Sandy Plains Recreation Association. At that time SPRA was a combined program of baseball
and softball. The Sandy Plains Information Committee was started by 2 SPRA Board Members
who represented softball on the 27-person Board. After much maneuvering, it was at the end
of the regular spring season of 1989 that the County approved the formation of SPSA and the
restructuring of SPRA. Due to the difficulties in having both SPRA and SPSA in the same park,
for example concessions staffing and revenue splits, the county awarded the exclusive use of
Sandy Plains Park to SPSA.
