Notification Policy

Please note that rainout information is usually restricted to game days (usually Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday). The park duty officer is responsible for making the determination as to whether or not the fields will be playable. In the event of inclement weather he/she will update the SPSA Park Hotline @ 770-281-7202 with the latest information. Absence of any update should be an indication that all events are on as scheduled. Please note that while it may be raining in the vicinity, the weather may still be favorable at the park.

On practice days the park duty officer typically does not update the hotline. In the event of inclement weather it is normally left up to the team manager's discretion whether or not to modify or cancel a practice. If rain is light, the outfield areas and batting cages may still be usable. Call your manager if in doubt.

While we do try to post rainout status on this website please note that there is no computer access at the park and so it is often not feasible to do so. The hotline number should be your main source for field status information.

Cancellations and Field Closings

When games or practices are cancelled, especially due to weather, the quickest way to check is the SPSA Park Hotline @ 770-281-7202.

We strive to allow as many games and/or practices to be held as possible, so announcements are not usually posted until approximately one hour before the first game or practice time.

We sometimes will cancel only the first round of games/practices if weather conditions and field conditions are improving, allowing the teams to get some games/practices.

If the fields are unusable, you may be able to get some time hitting in the cages if conditions permit. Please check the hotline.

If individual fields are closed for a particular reason, this will be noted on the hotline. More detailed information will be put on the website Field and Game Status link when possible.

Rescheduling Postponed Games

Please remember that rescheduled games take priority and will replace any practices, including batting cage practices on the schedules. Managers may try to reschedule practices by filling in vacant slots on the master schedule at the park kiosk.
